Notes

21. ORB lists as probable.

22. Baileys log book lists as full claim.

23. Only listed on 75 Squadron scoreboard (Australian Archives) with no date attributed to claim.

24. Wilson lists as damaged.

25. ORB lists claims of 2 bombers and 1 Zero for this action. Bombers are probably Ellerton and Atherton claims. Fighter claim could be Turnbulls but no official document was found to back this up. Turnbulls 2 fighter claims this day are widely published but would suggest these may have never happened.

26. 3 fighters destroyed, and 2 probably destroyed listed for this action in casualty report. One probable upgraded to destroyed but the other claim to P.Scandrett appears to have been downgraded to damaged.

27. Wilson lists as destroyed.

28. Not mentioned in ORB or 75 Squadron scoreboard.

29. Not mentioned in ORB

30. Gillison lists as shared destroyed (Atherton and Boyd). Claims for this action not mentioned in ORB.

31. Wilson suggests that Jacksons attack inflicted no damage to fighter. Claims for this action not mentioned in ORB. Shores lists as destroyed but may have confused with claim from previous day.

32. G.C Atherton may have a claim on this bomber as the squadron scoreboard has an undated half claim on a bomber in his name. The other half claim listed on the scoreboard would seem to match up with L.D Jackson but he has not been found in any lists for this mission. Jackson has an additional undated full bomber claim listed. J.W Piper, W.D Cowe, and O.J Channon all made attacks on bombers this day.

33. Shores confirms a half fighter destroyed and 1 fighter damaged claim for A.H Boyd this day. 75SQ. Scoreboard also confirms an undated half fighter claim, and a possible damaged for A.H Boyd. The only other half fighter claim listed on the scoreboard is for L.G Brereton but he has not been listed as being on this patrol. Shores lists a full fighter claim this day for G.C Atherton but because ORB only lists 1 Bomber and 2 fighters destroyed this day, it is possible that 1 fighter was confirmed for M.S Butler and the other fighter shared between Atherton and Boyd.

34. Wilson describes as severely damaged, and 75SQ. Scoreboard only has damaged claims against Butlers name. ORB lists 2 fighters destroyed on this patrol so one may be Butlers.

35. Only listed by Shores. No mention of any claims in ORB. Wilson states that fighters failed to intercept this raid, so Atherton may not have made this claim.

36. Only listed by Shores. Some doubt that Atherton was part of this intercept. This is possibly one of Atherton's damaged claims from the following day.

37. Not listed by Shores.

37a. Listed as 2 fighters damaged in Wilson 3, but states that results were not observed in Wilson 1.

38. Shores lists as one probably destroyed only. Not mentioned by ORB.

39. Both J.F Jackson and B.M Cox killed in this action. Destroyed claim often attributed to Jackson but may well have been Cox or Jackson.
